We are seeking an Office Manager for the High School Academy.  The Office Manager will report directly to the Principal of the High School Academy.  The Office Manager supervises and evaluates the High School office staff, the janitorial staff, and the maintenance and campus support staff.

Description of School:
Escuela Popular provides educational services to over 800 students in three age-appropriate programs in two facilities.  Our student population is predominately Latino.  Most of our students are first generation immigrants who come from Spanish-speaking households.  The Elementary School implements the Two-Way Dual Language Immersion program with Spanish being the target language. The elementary program serves students in grades K-8.  The Under 19 High School Program serves students ranging in age from 14-19, while the Over 19 High School Program serves adult students in the morning and evening programs.  The Over 19 High School Program provides childcare services for its students.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree, or high school diploma with five years of Office Manager experience
- At least three years of previous supervisory experience
- Strong customer service ethic
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with faculty, staff, students, and parents
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to juggle several projects at once with a spirit of flexibility and positive outlook
- Ability to take initiative
- Must be able to work independently
- Previous experience with MAC systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Entourage, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Familiarity with charter schools, education, or nonprofit work is preferred
- Personable and able to relate well with diverse populations and age groups
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required
- Flexibility to work evenings, as necessary

Performance Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Support overall office operations at the High School Academy
- Supervise High School office staff, the janitorial staff, and the maintenance and campus support staff
- First point-of-contact for facility needs at High School Academy and ensure the building is clean and safe
- First point-of-contact for technology needs at High School Academy
- Create and establish processes for effective tracking of inventory
- Create and publish weekly bulletin
- Organize the office; maintain bulletin boards; keep warm and friendly office environment
- Organize and coordinate meetings, including placing food orders, room set-up, etc.
- Develop effective communication between and among the office staff and teaching staff
- Develop effective communication with the Dual Language Academy office staff
- Provide back-up for the front desk office support staff, when needed
- Manage office supplies and book orders
- Track budget expenses
- Coordinate and maintain schedules for Fire and Earthquake drills
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding school matters
- Attend in-services and staff meetings
- Manage and troubleshoot printers, computers, copier, and internet service
- Other responsibilities include: distribution of paychecks and reimbursement checks

Starting Salary:  Commensurate with experience, plus full benefits
