Small charter school west of downtown Los Angeles seeks experienced, energetic teachers who possess a California Multi-Subject Credential and authorization to teach English Language Development. GCS is committed to providing an innovative,standards-based academic program that prepares its students to become perceptive and critical readers, active listeners, effective writers and speakers and competent problem solvers. Through the integration of daily dance instruction, GCS also seeks to develop discipline, focus, mutual respect, work ethic and pride in performance.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have two years experience as a classroom teacher, knowledge of effective instructional strategies for English Language Learners, a willingness to take on additional responsibilities, high level of collegiality, flexibility and a strong commitment to working with a low-income, primarily ELL population. Strong candidates will have demonstrated an interest in collaboration and in on-going professional growth.

School Calendar:

Gabriella Charter School follows a traditional school calendar and will begin the 2008-09 school year on September 2, 2008 and will end classes on June 18, 2009. Teachers are required to attend professional development and to set up classrooms in the weeks preceding the opening of school.
