About The Farm Worker Institute for Education and Leadership Development
The Farmworker Institute for Education and Leadership Development (FIELD) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening America’s agricultural sector. FIELD recognizes that agricultural workers are in need of better training and educational opportunities in order to succeed in the rapidly changing American economy. FIELD helps meet this challenge.

FIELD’s goal is to foster and provide opportunities for agricultural workers and other limited English-speaking Latinos. FIELD is working to develop a well-trained workforce, through basic education and literacy training as well as cross training in crop-specific vocational skills and other advanced courses in production techniques and technology. With this combination, workers are prepared to meet the demands of today’s agricultural and other work environments. FIELD takes great pride in knowing that our graduates take with them a better sense of self-esteem and confidence in their new abilities.
