OAKLAND
UNITY HIGH SCHOOL (Unity) is seeking credentialed teachers
for the 2008-09 school year.

Mathematics, Spanish, and Physical Education
Unity
is a comprehensive public high school chartered by the Oakland
Unified School District. With 215 ninth through twelve grade
students, Unity is a small, safe, and high-expectation school
with a mission to prepare its students for college. The
school offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum
that attends to the individual developmental and academic
needs of Oakland’s historically underserved students,
embracing them with a comprehensive support program through
a partnership between the school, families, and community.
Responsibilities
-
Participate in the development of school curricula.
- Teach
assigned classes.
- Serve
as advisor/counselor to students.

Provide after-school tutoring and enrichment activities
to students.

Engage parents in school programs and the development
of their children.
- Coordinate
with collaborating agencies.
Qualifications
-
Valid California secondary credential or qualified for
provisional internship permit in English, Mathematics,
and Foreign Language (Spanish). Credential desired for
PE teacher opening.

Ability to participate in teamwork and shared decision-making.
- Excellent
oral and written communication skills.

Dedicated to the success of every student.

Passionate about working with diverse youth, families,
and communities.

Proficient in technology.
-
BCLAD certification preferred.
Compensation:
