Academy Schedule
Overview of Remaining Requirements
Quarterly Meeting Schedule: The dates for the remaining
quarterly meetings (all to be
held at the Renaissance Club Sport) are as follows. We will start each
meeting promptly
at 8:15 am and will be done promptly at 5:00 pm. Please make your travel
arrangements accordingly.

The Renaissance Club Sport Hotel in Walnut Creek has extended
the special room rate of $119/night to Governance Academy participants
staying overnight for the Eagle Peak Montessori School Board Meetings.
Rate includes breakfast in the C-Blue Restaurant. Please call Renald Messina,
Sales Manager, at 925-942-6373 or e-mail him at renald.mesina@clubsports.com.
You can also contact Renald to book any rooms for Governance Academy quarterly
meetings.
Eagle Peak Board Observation: The grant calls for
each school to observe a meeting of
the Eagle Peak board. You have each selected a meeting date and all of
your first
choices are being accommodated. We have arranged for the same rate as
for our
regular meetings with the Renaissance Club Sport—you should just mention
that you are
with the Governance Academy. Please contact Kristina at CSDC (916)278-6069
if you
have questions about the hotel or other logistics. The remaining Eagle

Monthly
Contact: The grant calls for each school to have monthly phone check-in
with
Governance Academy staff to discuss progress and any issues or concerns.
The staff person
assigned to your school is listed below. Your staff contact will arrange
a time with you for
your monthly check in.
Office Hours: The grant calls
for Governance Academy staff to hold 4 office hours per month
to field more technical, specific governance related questions that arise
for you. Michelle
and Beryl will each take responsibility for 2 hours each month. To make
it easier for
everyone to remember, Michelle and Beryl have set aside Wednesdays from
2:30 to 3:30
pm. The schedule through the end of the year is attached along with contact
information for
Beryl and Michelle.
Portfolio Requirements: The grant calls for each
school to complete a Portfolio documenting
the work that your school has done as part of the Governance Academy.
To complete the
program your school will need to submit either a flash drive or CD at
the final Quarterly
Meeting which includes all of the following documents, individualized
for your school’s
governing board:
a. A complete, updated copy of the charter
b. A complete and updated version of your by-laws
c. A complete complement of each required policy
d. An annual board calendar
e. A board member job description
f. A board member commitment statement
g. As a group we will develop several other items that will be a part
of the portfolio documenting your work at the Governance Academy (including
templates for an academic and fiscal dashboard as well as a school director
evaluation process and tools).
